Winter is coming on April 14th and the anguish we feel not knowing who will sit on the throne at the end of the show is killing us. And with the recent official photos HBO has published a few days ago, the anxiety only grew more. To make things more interesting for us, bookmakers have given us odds to guess whether Westeros will be reigned by a king or a queen as the show slowly comes to an end.
Naturally, the audience is rooting for the Stark children, and that’s why they are high in the odds. The Three-Eyed Raven or Bran Stark has the odds at his favour. At 2/3 odds, bookmakers have placed Bran on the top of the list for the throne. However, with all conspiracy theories that Bran Stark is actually the Night King, who is at 10/1 odds, you cannot be sure that Bran is the person to put your bets on.
The odds of Jon Snow sitting on the throne are 6/1, while for Sansa Stark are 8/1. Arya Stark is another favourite, at 18/1 odds. These are all solid bets since as we could see, they have all been through a lot and fought to deserve a seat on the throne.
Jon, being the all-time hero, Sansa with her politician views, who is currently the Lady of Winterfell, and Arya who uses her serial killer skills to eliminate everyone who has done harm to her and her family are all legit bets.
Out of all the Lannisters, as many would expect, Tyrion comes in at the best odds, 10/1. Sure, he has done a lot of great things for Khaleesi, but his last conversation with Cersei who comes at 25/1 odds, was a little bit suspicious. Some have started thinking that maybe he will betray Daenerys at the end.
Having in mind all the plot twist throughout the episodes and the show constantly killing off favourite characters, one could really bet that Cersei would achieve her evil goal of ‘remaining’ the Queen of Westeros.
Jamie Lannister is lower than Cersei on the list, at 40/1 odds. But, this does not come unexpected, since there were no actual clues that he has the potential to become the King of Westeros. But, everything can happen against the war with the Army of the Dead. Maybe Jamie will be the last man standing.
The Mother of Dragons is at 12/1 odds actually, which puts her way lower on the list than one would expect. In fact, hers and Jon Snow’s child is at better odds than her, 10/1. The child would actually be a legit Targaryen since Danny is and as we could see from the last season, Jon Snow is also half Targaryen, being the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark.
If you still haven’t placed your bets, visit your favourite bookmaker’s site and check all of the options. There are odds for every important remaining character from the show. In fact, Gendry is right after Danny with 15/1 odds, and HBO has photographed 20 of them sitting on the throne, so who knows.
