Playson has gifted its fans with a new cluster-pays slot game called Crystal Crush, just in time for the holidays. The new addition to Playson’s massive slot selection is based on a hexagonal game area, where players can take advantage of 61 cells filled with multi-coloured symbols to form winning clusters with. The kaleidoscope layout is absolutely hypnotising and looks nothing like the slot games we’re used to playing.
The Special Features and the Gameplay
When you load the game, you will see that each and every one of the symbols is presented outside the reels, on each side of the game area. There is a progress bar for each symbol. As you form winning combos with the symbols, the progress bar gets filled for each different-coloured symbol respectively. When you fill the entire bar, that symbol gets crystalized. You will need to form winning combos adjacent to the crystallized symbol in order to crush it and the crystal will turn into a regular symbol once again.
You will get a yellow symbol marked with the letter W which will represent the Wild. Apart from forming part of winning combos with other symbols, the Wild can form wins on its own. Your payouts come as soon as you make clusters of at least 5 matching symbols, although the clusters made of 9+ symbols give you the best payouts.
When you manage to crush three crystals in a row, you go to the bonus level 1. Here, wins are multiplied by 2x for symbols of the same colour. On level 2, one to three symbols gets transformed into Wilds randomly. Level 3 brings you a 3x multiplier to same coloured symbol wins. On level 4 you get 6 symbols transformed into Wilds, and on level 5, a 4x multiplier is added to your wins. The final bonus level, level 6, turns random symbols and crystal symbols into Wilds.
There is also a Crystal Crush feature you can benefit from, which you can trigger randomly during the non-winning spins. The Crystal Crush feature will randomly select a symbol and activate 2 progress levels on it.
What’s On the Reels?
You cannot see conventional reels, but a hexagonal game area with 61 cells where the different-coloured symbols are present. You will get a leaf, a raindrop, a flower, a clover, a star and a moon engraved into those symbols. Each and every one of these symbols can get crystalized at some point.
The game area is absolutely astounding and it makes a special visual effect by itself. However, Playson has done a great job with the graphics, the vivid colours and the bright blue background, as well. Crystal Crush has the potential of becoming one of Playson’s most engaging and visually-appealing games so far, which promises a decent payout potential.
